ECHO CLUB

Dub is the expansion of space: the delay reprasents the longing for the big city. "Dub" is alteration of music at a mixing desk in a studio. It used to be just echo and delay and a vew added snippets of sound or vocal cutups. Rooted in Dub Reggae, the delay is now used throughout the electronic music spectrum, to create a mood that usually tends towards the melancholic. This creates an order spanning across all styles of electronic music, which is defined by the specific mood of a track. Within this order, we like to see Echo Club: a plattform for (moderatly) melancholic electronic music (from Dub Electronica, to Electro, Breakbeats and Deep House through to Detroit). the mood set by the music, leads the photographic search for the image of "the city". Together with recordings from the streets of those cities, Echo Club tries to create a lounge and dancefloor situation, which by bringing together the images with the sounds achieves a filmic quality.

Echo Club is a clubconcept, in which the visual appearance is as important as the music. This reflects in the flyers and posters aswell as in the visuals at the nights as such. The visuals reflect the mood of the music and vice-versa the music to a certain extent is a spontanious score composition to the projected images.
