"abandoned" is a photography-project by sam graf, sgis.ch the pictures were taken in an abandoned housing estate from the sowjet-times of latvia. the building complex is situated in the west of latvia near ventspils. in 1991, when latvia got independent, the russian people (mainly people who worked for the sowjet army) who used to live in those houses had to leave and go back to russia. the houses are abandoned and untouched for more than ten years now. <- back
